"Maidmans moved us down from North Yorkshire to Dorset. They were friendly, efficient and helpful throughout the whole process, both the office team and the guys on the vans. Our furniture went into storage and was very well looked after, until it was moved again to our new home.

I was moving 170 miles and had a large number of books to include in the move. The possessions were put into storage for a week or, as I wanted and then delivered to my new address.

"The whole process from estimate of cost to final delivery of possessions was dealt with in a very efficient and friendly manner.
I was able to phone the office and explain what I wanted and it was completed without any issues.

Move from large 3rd floor apartment with only passenger lift, to 3 storey house.

"Well what can I say! Maidmans were amazing from start to finish.
Most furniture when moving out had to be carried down internal stairs, which was done with care and humour, the guys were polite and friendly, with sympathetic consideration given to my disabled husband throughout.

All work was carried out carefully and on time, and the unloading at the destination was done quickly and with a smile, despite the obvious weariness of the crew, even when carrying large items to the 3rd floor.

Maidmans made a potentially stressful move straightforward and pleasant.

From a first-floor flat to 3 different destination locations: our new address; a self-storage unit; and a charity shop (or other disposal). Distance about 100 miles. Service included packing.

"We'd like to thank everybody involved, for a very successful and hassle-free move!

It all started with Andy, who assessed our needs and gave us two comprehensive quotes to chose from (with and without the packing service). Then Keith, back at base, helped me plan the operation in more detail, talking through the options. Finally, the pack-and-move team were super-careful and efficient at both ends of the move. They were completely unfazed by our request to have items delivered to a domestic address, a self-storage facility, and a charity shop / other disposal.

Our belongings were mixed up with someone else’s in storage which created a huge amount of stress when the wrong furniture was delivered on our moving day. Two chest of drawers were missing, subsequently found and delivered a week later. We had paid for all furniture to be export wrapped to protect it in storage, however, six expensive dining chairs were delivered unwrapped and damaged along with several other instances of damage.

"Once things started going wrong this company have been truly awful and have treated us with contempt.

We had no explanation (or apology) for our furniture being mixed up and damaged. We were subsequently instructed to claim on their insurance policy which is not fit for purpose. Our claim for £2700 to replace the previously immaculate dining chairs resulted in an insulting offer of £100. Maidmans, which is now part of White and Company, refused to engage to resolve our legitimate complaint. We were forced to take our case to the Ombudsman who will not investigate as we had been directed to make a futile insurance claim. In fact we should not have been told to use insurance as this was a breach of contract claim as the dining chairs were not export wrapped which was a service we had paid for. Maidmans must have known that any insurance claim would void Ombudsman intervention, therefore, they wasted the Ombudsman’s time and ours.

This company prefers obfuscation and time wasting rather than dealing with their customers legitimate complaint. In addition there is a breach of contract claim regarding their failure to export wrap the dining chairs which would have protected them from the damage.

There is also another customer who had their personal belongs delivered to a third party without their consent. Were they ever informed of this breach of confidentiality?

Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with a company that refuses to accept any responsibility for their clear failures.

Because of problems with our buyers’ solicitors which were out of our control we contacted Maidmans with just a few days to go until our completion date. We were delighted to be told that this was not a problem and from that first telephone conversation we knew that we were in good hands. This was a four day move, with a complete packing service moving from North Dorset to Poundbury, including taking various items to a storage unit and involved rather a lot of garden equipment and plants.

"All the staff have their own strengths, be it manoeuvring the huge trucks onto a driveway, lifting really heavy items of furniture or expertly packing delicate pieces of china.

What we liked especially was that the younger members of the team just got on with the heavy lifting leaving the more mature packers to take great care of the packing of all the delicate items, Phil in particular being an expert in ensuring that our most delicate ornaments were cosseted and safely packed away to reappear intact at their new home."

House move to Cardiff from Bournemouth taking place over 2 days. Load was split and delivered to 2 addresses. All went smoothly, the staff were very helpful through out .and undertook the job professionally. This included delivery to a storage facility , and taking the items via lift to a storeroom. and putting them in place.

Maidmans removal team turned up at our home between 8:30 and 9:00am. We left them to loading all of our packed boxes on to the removal lorry. They took the upmost care to pack up our TV and pictures on the walls of our home and load them onto the removal lorry. When arriving at our new address they waited with patience until the keys were released. Once the keys were in our possession the removal team moved swiftly to unload our household contents into our new home.

"Selecting Maidmans Moving & Storage Ltd was a very good choice on our part. We invited a Maidmans repesentative to our home for an estimate for moving home about a mile away from where we lived. After we had accepted their estimate followed by a few questions to staff at their office it was plain sailing. Maidmans removal team turned up at our house between 8:30 and 9:00am. We left them to loading all of our packed boxes on to the removal lorry. They took the upmost care to pack up our TV and pictures on the walls of our home and load them onto the removal lorry. We hired Maidmans to help us pack and move home

"We had Chris, Finlay and Sean turn up punctually on Thursday morning, they helped me pack up almost all of our belongings beautifully and carefully. They made me feel at ease as moving home can be a very stressful time but their sense of humour and kindness was wonderful. Again they turned up punctually on the Friday (our actual moving day) helped pack the remaining items and were completely understanding when we were delayed in recieving the keys. Instead of taking a break Chris, Finlay and Sean went to another job in the area to help them move in, which just shows their professionalism and dedication. Once we heard we could get the keys they came straight back, and brought three more colleagues with them to help us move in as quickly as possible. It was one of the hottest days of the year and they just carried on lifting very heavy furniture with ease. It was wonderful to have all our furniture re built as well, a service I recommend to everyone. I couldn't be more delighted with the service we received and want to say a huge thank you to you all. I also want to say a special thank you to Andy who came and gave us a quote in the first place, he was so helpful in explaining the whole moving process."

Final move having considerably down-sized from 4 beds to a two bed bungalow.

"From the very moment I made first contact with Maidmans I knew our move was in good hanfs. Thankfully we were not to tied to removal dates as we already had access to our new home. Our first choice dates were agreed, (give loads of notice if you can). Helen was great in the office keeping us informed. The price was very similar to other quotes we received but from first contact to final drop off Maidmans gave us assurance and confidence.
The day of the move Shaun and Phil arrived on time. Clean smart removal van, them dressed in uniform. They packed beautifully asking loads of questions along the way to ensure our home went in the right place when unloading. Packing and loading was completed the same day ready for a drive to our new home the next day.
Shaun led a different team for the unload and it was seemless. All our belongings arrived safely. I must say that Phil and his wrapping and packing of all our bone china was superb.
Thank you Maidmans you were great.

Storage of bedroom items for a couple of weeks whilst our property was being decorated

"From the moment that I contacted Maidmans and received a visit from Steve Webber to assess our needs the whole procedure was smooth and straightforward from receiving the quotation, the invoices and the terms and conditions, to the actual move into storage. We needed the storage to be done quickly and this was no problem and all organised for us very quickly.

The two chaps that came to move us, Shaun and Kieran, were friendly cheerful and efficient and our belongings were loaded into two crates and taken away to storage. On the return we were lucky enough to have Shaun and Kieran again and they couldn't have been more helpful patiently placing items back where we wanted them quietly and cheerfully.

They were a pleasure to deal with, left no mess and were thoughtful and careful when manoeuvring furniture into place to avoid the newly decorated paintwork.

I only spoke to Helen Collins in the office briefly but she was friendly and helpful and I would definitely have no problem recommending Maidmans to anyone who needed either a whole house move or just like us short term storage.

All the paperwork was extremely clear and easy to read and although the small print was very comprehensive, easy enough to read and we are very grateful for the great job they did for us."

The move was from my 5 bedroom house with 5 reception rooms that I had owned for 29 years to a 3 bed bungalow with one reception room with kitchen included. So very much down sized.

"Chris arrived to pack first thing the day before and I could not believe how fast he was and completely on his own until lunch time. Then two others arrived and did most of the heavy furniture for the rest of the day.
All very cheerful and worked very hard all day.
On the morning of the move another chap appeared which made four in total and they worked like trojans until 11.15 when they left my house.

It was another two hours before we got the keys to my new property and they then proceeded to unpack both vans putting everything into the correct labelled rooms and outside areas.

Everything went smoothly and no stress caused throughout the day. Very professional and hard working team indeed. Such a good service and would recommend to anyone."

We moved from a fairly large 4 bed house to a 3 year old 3 bed house. Having not moved for a number of years there was a fair amount of accumulated possessions to be moved.

"Moving house was always going to be a stressful time but the removals service of Maidmans could not have been better.

The timetable for packing and departure was explained well before the date and packing materials were delivered for us to pack the items we wanted to. The staff arrived on time on the day before and packed as much as possible, returning on the actual moving date with a smaller van to complete the pack. On arrival at the new house with all vans all the furniture and packaging was in the house in a few hours.

The staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful throughout a very hot day. Nothing at all was broken or damaged (doors, bannisters were covered so as not to mark them or the items being moved). Each area was cleared systematically on packing and boxes/furniture put in the correct places on arrival. Only one area was forgotten - we hadn't emptied the dishwasher (our fault!) so had to return to the old house to collect the contents.

We would highly recommend Maidmans for house removals.

Moving from a 3 bed family home to a 3 bed bungalow, after 29 years in the same place, there was a lot to pack and move.

"We obtained 3 quotes for our move, Maidmans were the middle price but instilled confidence in their ability to get the job done in a safe timely manner. The confidence was well placed, the team were exceptional when packing, worked like Trojans in intense heat and just got the job done. The team were led by Martin who was exemplary.

Apart from all the normal chattels, an old motorcycle along with several items of garage machinery were shifted.
I have no hesitation in giving Maidmans a fantastic review."

"Had an initial in person visit from Andy to do an assessment and everything was explained clearly and was left with a booklet. House move

"As soon as Andy came to our home to provide a quote for our move we felt confident that we were in the hands of a professional company he explained everything thoroughly.
We picked up packing boxes,packing materials, tape from their depot as down as we exchanged contracts which was all included in the price.
On moving day Steve and Kieran arrived promptly and cleared our bungalow and garage quickly and carefully, they were joined by several other members of the removal team at times. All team members were very friendly and worked really hard.
Unfortunately when we arrived at our new home, just a mile from our previous property we had to wait a couple of hours in very hot weather before we got the call to pick ip the keys. Steve and Kieran remained jovial and patient throughout. When they were able to start unloading they were again joined by another team member and the whole operation was carried out carefully and speedily. All boxes and furniture was placed in the correct rooms and no breakages.
Would highly recommend Maidmans.
