Stuart Beattie drew up the plans for a proposed small extension to house a wet room and utility area. I was clear about what I wanted and the layout. I needed the plans drawn up and planning permission sought. Stuart drew up the plans.

"Stuart was receptive to my oversight and requests for my wishes to be adhered to, promptly facilitating the few rectifications required before submitting the application to the planning department.
Stuart had minimal contact during the build but if I had needed some advice I believe he would have been receptive.
At the conclusion of the build he applied for the completion certificate on my behalf.

As for the fees his charge was two thousand pounds approx for the above work. Not sure how this compared to other architects, as no others were consulted. This was because they were either too busy to take work on, or they promised to come round but didn't do so and no reasons given for not turning up. At least Stuart turned up as he had said.

The fees payable to the council were in addition to that.
Stuart's work was acceptable and appropriate to the process but it's fair to say, and probably no different to any other architects, that close working is required to make sure the client's wishes are achieved. The outcome was successful and that's the main thing."

Building Control compliant drawings prepared for converting detached garage to work area.

He then submitted the completion application on my behalf as part of the original service deal.

We had done a loft conversion during the lockdown but it wasn''t up to building warrant standards. Stuart kindly took over the drawing and planning submissions to bring it inline with requirements.

"He was great at keeping with what we wanted and advised what we needed to do. He also liaised with building standards on our behalf, keeping us in the loop at all stages. Despite a number of changes by the council he stuck to his quoted price. The drawings and technical specifications were very clear and easy to follow.

Full floor plan and survey for change of use from house to B&B. Full list of changes to property to comply with Building Warrant and submission of all documentation to Council.

"Excellent service from Stuart from start to finish. Make no bones about it. This was a huge and very complicated job for him from the outset. He handled it very efficiently and was pleasant to deal with and was very patient with us. His standard of work is exceptional and very reasonably priced.
