Tom built a small extension for us, moved our existing staircase, gutted and re-built our lounge, study, shower room, kitchen, and utility.

Whenever something unexpected was found with the existing house, Tom would present a couple of solutions and talked us through them, leading to a great outcome.

Our end-terraced cottage has been extended and totally refurbished by Ashbank Developments (Scotland) Ltd. Single extension to the side and double extension to the rear. The cottage was effectively rebuilt and refurbished from scratch to a very high standard. The property now comprises large living room and kitchen, spacious 1st floor lounge, 2 bedrooms (one with en-suite), bathroom, utility room and converted attic space. Project included installation of underfloor heating system with gas boiler and solar panels, double glazing and total insulation for energy efficiency. Extensive garden area re-modeled with driveway, parking bays, patio and decking.

"Can’t praise Tom Smith and his team of specialists highly enough. They have done a wonderful job. Tom’s quote was prompt and detailed with a full schedule of works. His quote seemed pretty reasonable for the amount of work involved. From my first meeting with Tom it was obvious he was so experienced, professional and easy to talk to. He understood our requirements exactly and was keen to do the work. Watching every stage of the project it was evident that Tom’s meticulous attention to detail was stamped all over the work. The neighbours remarked how tidy the site was and how co-operative and friendly our builders were. Every member of the Ashbank team strived to build our house to the highest possible standard, as if it was their own. All were experienced trade professionals whom Tom has worked with for years. I like the fact that Ashbank take on one project at a time and devote all their attention to the job in hand. It was finished on time and within budget. All I can say is if you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy professional builder, then look no further than Ashbank Developments (Scotland Ltd). You will love the end result! We approached Ashbank with an idea and they worked with it and dealt with everything from concept to completion. No stress no hassle and we felt part of the process at all times.

"The work carried out was explained in detail, including planning assistance for layout, and the purchase of fittings etc. All carried out as agreed, with a quiet efficiency and attention to detail.
Also cleared up at the end of each day, leaving work site clean and tidy.

Removed existing kitchen units and worktops, replaced with new, fitted cooker, hob, and extractor fan. Took down partition wall to dining room,formed beam, boarded ceiling,replaced back door, plywood flooring put down. Organised gas into kitchen, plumbing and Ames Taper.

"This was the second time we used Ashbank and once again they did an excellent job from the initial quoting to the last day. Their attention to detail is first class, they explain everything, were always on time, didn't ask for money in advance and cleaned up thoroughly. "Tam and the team at Ashbank built our house in 2001, so we were already very familiar with their high quality and workmanship. Indeed when we moved in to the brand new house, there was absolutely zero snagging required.

Nearly 15 years later, when we decided to modernise our kitchen living space, we immediately contacted Ashbank and asked for their help. Tam & Lesley were significantly involved in suggesting some innovative ideas for our new kitchen and this helped significantly in all of the many decisions required to get started. We got to see samples at home of kitchen units, granite and most excitingly, the bold choice of coloured glass for the splash-back instead of tiles. The knowledge and experience they provided with reference to previous work done was immeasurable and made the hard process of making the right decisions incredibly easy.

The next stage was that Tam produced a 3D set of images of the kitchen choices and we were able to fine tune the last decisions to our final liking. These 3D colour images were invaluable as we could see the vision of what our new rooms would look like from various angles.

The planned building out stage was started promptly on the 5th January as agreed and continued in a brisk pace through to completion. I think I counted 8 different trades involved from the carpenters, electricians, plumbers, tillers, granite and glass installers ,ames tapers and painters.

Each and every one of these individuals was courteous, polite and tidy. But over and above this, they were each exceptionally skilled at their trades which resulted in the highest quality workmanship I have ever encountered. The attention to detail and finish quality is perfect, 100% perfect!

Tam's ability to plan co-ordinate and manage the build was superb. When the Granite worktops where delayed in the snow in England, he re-arranged everything around this setback to ensure there was no knock on delay or disruption, fantastic!

When it became clear that I had mistakenly ordered the wrong Rangemaster cooker, Tam negotiated with the distributer and ensured that the correct unit was ordered and the wrong one returned. The only issue we therefore had was a direct result of my mistake and Tam absorbed the hassle and inconvenience of the resulting challenge without missing a beat, I was most grateful for this.

So overall I give the whole team at Ashbank 100/100 score, we could not fault anything, the result is sparkling and a fantastic addition to our home. I wholeheartedly recommend Ashbank Homes as a builder of extraordinary quality and capability and hope that anyone reading this will take comfort that you will have absolutely made the right choice in using them for any building work that you are contemplating.
