To decorate living room, three bedrooms, kitchen, hall, bathroom, toilet. This entailed removing wallpaper in living room and one bedroom, replastering one bedroom, skimming a chimney breast in the living room, and replastering the living room if necessary; to install coving throughout, paint ceilings and coving in white emulsion, walls in emulsion supplied by me, and gloss all woodwork.

We as a company are of course bitterly disappointed that we have not lived up to the standard of work and level of service we are usually associated with. The works were carried out in two stages, the first of which were completed to the customers satisfaction and the invoice was settled in full.
Unfortunately the second phase fell below our standard for a number of reasons. The customer was offered the opportunity to have it put right and receive a 20% reduction on the invoice as a gesture of good will to apologise for the inconvenience. This was declined and a subsequent offer to pay for an alternative contractor to put it right was made, again this was declined. We have yet to issue an invoice for the works until a resolution can be found.
I feel it is unfair to personally attack the individuals involved especially the plasterer who finds it necessary to work two jobs in the present economic climate, he is a time served qualified tradesman as are the others who visited with the exception of the painter who whilst not formally qualified has been decorating for over 4 years including a number of hotels for a national chain.
The time spent on site was minimal from myself due to my wife giving birth as the project began, the customer was fully aware of the situation at the time of scheduling in the works and declined delaying until such time as I could be more ‘hands on’.
In summary, yes the final part of the work was not up to standard and for that I again apologise. I am still available to discuss putting the work right should you now feel you wish to get the matter resolved.
