Fixing new seal to repair leak to John Lewis slimline dishwasher

"Visit 1. Arrived on time. Quoted cost of £20 for labour.

Visit 2. A bit early. Fitted new seal quickly. Charged £45 for parts and labour. Did not test seal for leaks. No invoice or receipt. The door still leaked.

At next visit tightened door catch. At first still seemed to leak, but then seemed better after brief test.

At next use, door leaked as badly as ever. Called Mr Winter. He said he had done as much as he could and would not come again. Suggested it might work to raise the supports at the front of the machine. If so, why had he/would he not try it himself? We are fairly old and not very handy, and it would be difficult for us to lift the dishwasher.

We felt he took the money and ran after wrong diagnosis and would not recommend him. No paperwork or guarantee at any point."

Our washing machine had an error light saying 'clean pump'. We couldn’t find any problems, following instructions. Mr. Winter came and found a foreign object in the pump.

"‘Winter Domestics’ came as recommendation and Mr. Winter proved to be an extremely likeable who quietly went about the repair causing as little disruption as was possible. It was thought motor brushes were needed, but luckily for me an electrical wire had broken.
