"Steve came to give a quotation soon after he was contacted.
He sent a quote soon after and a date was arranged and kept to
The work appeared to be of good quality and Steve cleared up afterwards.

Steve insisted that i write a cheque for the full amount before he left the site despite me saying that we usually pay on invoice (i complied with this request).

The work appeared to be of good quality and i had agreed the price. However i was under the impression that the work would entail much more time to compete.

As we had paid before the invoice was issued we asked for a break down of the invoice into labour and materials. The labour was £160 (the job took thee hours)- no problem

My main quibble was with the materials (£356.67 + VAT)

Searching the internet i came to the conclusion that there was a significant mark up on these materials.

Obvious prices vary and there can be inferior products on the market.

However by careful searching for like for like items and looking only at reputable high street suppliers the material could have been obtained for approximately £120 (Inclusive of VAT). For example twin socket cover, charged £13.75 available at 3.60. Twin usb socket charged 41.81 available at £19.

I would have thought that these items would be even cheaper to someone in the 'trade'. Therefore A mark up of around 2 - 3 x cost seems excessive.

Summary - good quality work but very expensive

Would recommend Steve to do further work but first ask for a compete break down of prices specifically including materials beforehand.

Double socket fitted into an under stairs cupboard

"Steven arrived punctually and observed social distancing as well as wearing a mask, I showed where I needed the work and he was straight onto it. Pleased to say that he tested everything through when he’d finished. No mess, extremely polite and efficient.. I’ve some electrical work that will need doing in a few months and will definitely be in touch.

Four light fittings fitted to bedroom, dining room and toilet(purchased by customer). Replaced the poor lighting in the garage with LED strip light, also fitted external motion sensors to the drive and back garden-purchased by Steven. Really satisfied with the results and the prompt attention. All the necessary paperwork provided.

"This work was done at short notice, but I was delighted that Steven turned up bang on time. I explained what I needed doing and he gave me some ideas as to what would work. All the work that was required to be done inside the house was carried out in a sufficient and tidy manner. I left Steven to deal with the outside work and he purchased what was necessary . The improvement in the lighting in the garage is amazing, the whole garage is now illuminated. The outside lighting has made a massive difference as we dont as yet have any street lighting due to it being a new build site. Steven was very pleasant and it was a pleasure to deal with him."

Upgrade of our alarm system to include contacts on two new doors. Also fitted new double plug socket.

"We use Steven Hatton Electrician for all our electical requirements and have done so for a number of years.
Steven has in the past fitted for us a full alarm system and cctv cameras around our property. He has also rewired our home thoughout and also done other smaller jobs for us.
Steven has always done excellent work, has been neat and tidy and completed on time. Prices have always been fair.

Supply and fit burglar alarm. Supply and fit cctv cameras.

"Steven called and gave us a written quote for the work to be done.
The quote was fair and competetive, he explained what would be done and how it would be done and gave start and finish times. Steven was always willing to offer advice and answer questions about the jobs.
All the work was done very efficiantly, and finished on time with only a small amount of mess which was cleaned up.
Steven is a warm and freindly man who was very easy to get on with. We felt so comfortable with him that we knew we could leave him with the keys to our home as we work full time.
We were delighted with the end product and would not hesitate to recommend Steven to any body."
