Fault finding of a damaged cable, upgrade to main consumer unit (RCD to RCBO) and general works.

"Incredible service from probably the most professional and knowledgeable electrician I've ever met...

We'd had some occasionally nuisance tripping in our fairly large house - but awoke on morning to find the power out. Resetting the main switch was pointless - it failed constantly. Unplugging the usual suspects - fridges etc - no joy.

So I was forced to "take the plunge" with a random electrician - but thankfully had received a note via NextDoor about a decent electrician in my area (Tewin / Hertford). I called Wayne, who arrived within the hour. Without any kind of faff, Wayne started to test each circuit efficiently and soon had narrowed it down to a kitchen circuit. A rogue mouse had decided to chew through the cable - not helped by a rather small but "big enough" hole left by me during some DIY works. The cable was duly changed without drama.

I mentioned the nuisance tripping and Wayne suggested that it was unlikely to be a "fault" - just a consequence of the huge amount of USB and smart devices we had. He clearly explained the benefits and options and sent me a quote. I was travelling overseas and failed to get back to him - until the nuisance tripping started to get worse and a holiday was imminent. I had visions of tidal waves of water emanating from freezers with no power, so Wayne popped over and within a few minute we'd agreed what to do. Seeing my discomfort, he made a few calls and rearranges his weekend to fit my job in - doing the majority of work on a Sunday. This was clearly a case of "over and above the call of duty". Three weeks later - not a single trip and the joys of having power that doesn't trip at 1am are hard to describe.

Wayne is probably the single most professional and reliable electrician I've ever met. He is professional, thoughtful and deeply experienced. He instilled confidence at every point.

We live in a fairly large and expensive house - yet I got the feeling that the "big house markup" that we often find - from gardeners to window cleaners - wasn't there. The job was the job, would require ££ in parts and Z hours of his time. Over a coffee or two, Wayne shared a little about his career and this filled me with further confidence (if that was possible).

I would have no hesitation in recommending Wayne for anything - from a simple repair to a major rewire. His work was exceptional and his professionalism outstanding. I am very fortunate indeed to have found Wayne and will be asking for Wayne's help in all electrical matters as our house renovations continue.
