Remedial electrical work and full EICR check.

"I'd approached several electricians to seek advice and quotes for some work we needed doing on our 'second home' in Wigtown and ATD Newton Stewart responded quickly. I described the work I wanted doing, which was very broad-ranging because no previous surveys had been done on the electrical condition of the cottage when we'd bought it many years ago, and ATD gave an initial estimate of the time it would take two electricians to complete the work.
Communication with the firm was very good, for example agreeing dates which fitted with our calendar, and confirmation of time of arrival.
The team worked steadily throughout the time they were here, keeping me informed of progress and the issues they found which needed attention, including upgrade work and suggestions for improvements. Consequently, it took a day longer than estimated to rectify the faults and do the required upgrades, which was fine as my wife and I are now confident that the electrics are all now up to standard, with an EICR certificate issued.
The electricians were good-humoured, positive and great to have on site. Their explanations of what they were doing was understandable to a non-electrician such as myself, which was appreciated.
Some of the access in the cottage was very restricted, especially in the coombs and the very cramped loft space, and they were patient in ensuring that the work was done properly.
I realised that the work would cost more than my initial budget because of unforeseen corrective work which need doing and also suggestions for upgrades which we were happy to accept, so I do feel that the final invoice, which was clearly itemised, and the necessary paperwork issued was value for money.

"They arrived as a team of 2 electricians and a young labourer. They listened carefully to what we wanted and everything was done as we asked. They were well organised and highly efficient.
