"The service I received from Douglas Allen, Epping was poor from the start (the estate agent couldn’t contact the vendor to arrange viewing as he had an incorrect number and confirmed our viewing via email literally 5 min before it was due to take place) to the finish (we were told we would be receiving a home move box which did not arrive).

We offered the full asking price on 27th February but did not receive a letter confirming acceptance until 13th March and only after several calls & complaints.

The property dimensions were not available us and despite frequent calls about this we were constantly fobbed off with excuses. They eventually were put on the website but we were not told. Awful service the whole way through.

Excellent service from the estate agent we were selling with only served to highlight Douglas Allen poor service further.

"Since purchasing the property we have found out that a planning consultation has been ongoing since Feb 2012. One of the options is to build houses etc on the fields that we currently overlook. Had we been made aware we would not have purchased the property. We are currently pursuing this matter via our solicitors."

"The manager, Mr. Gravenor gave completely false information about major repairs to the block. His manner is bombastic & arrogant. He advised me to only use a solicitor who worked on a “No sale – no fee” basis & offered to put me in touch with one. He interrupted a phone conversation with one of his staff in such an abrupt fashion I thought I had a crossed line. He also advised not contact the vendor any more after our offer was accepted."
