"The house was difficult to sell.There was an opportunity to sell. With slightly reduced fees the offer would have been accepted.However there was no flexibility or common sense. I refused the offer and then Bridgefords spent many more pounds (than the reduction) in trying to sell it again...Women!!!"

I was very disappointed with this review after many reviews with an excellent return, we sold the property concerned to an investor which was then undervalued by survey, we were in constant contact with the vendor who lived overseas, conducted all the viewings and had keys, the feedback after the sale via email directly from the vendor concerned is below:

I havent heard a thing off my Soicitor despite a couple of emails.
I think youve earnt your money with me lol..
I do get a bit stressed at times.

"Overall I was happy with the service. A bit disappointed that I did not get the price I wanted, but that was not really Bridgfords fault. Were the expectations set too high?

Overall I found Bridgfords helpful and they kept me informed about all developments.

Alan was very helpful, and both Sam and Rob helped me when they could. I sometimes felt that they were looking for the quickest sell rather than the best deal for me though.

Maybe thought the costs were a bit on the high side compared to other estate agents, but I cannot complain as they did sell my house."

"In the past I have not had a lot of time for Bridgfords. I have bought previous houses through them and I have found them to be annoyingly pushy with their mortgage products. In fact several years ago, at a different branch in the North West, I got the impression that they were suggesting I had to arrange a mortgage in principle with them before I could view a property. That was 10 years ago, I left that particular office and did not view any of their properties.

The service we received from Bridgfords during this latest purchase was a massive improvement on my previous experiences with the company.

This time, although we were offered an appointment with their mortgage advisor more than once, there was rather less coercion.

There were some glitches with the memorandum of sale at the start of the process which lead to delay, the vendors solicitors' address was incorrect and despite it being pointed out to Bridgfords, they failed to correct it meaning that we had to chase quite hard to find out what was going on when nothing seemed to be happening after a few weeks. However this paled into insignificance when compared with the other problems caused by the vendors difficulties in completing paperwork correctly.

We found them to be helpful, friendly and kept us informed. As we reached the originally agreed completion date there was a situation where the vendor wanted to delay completion with no set date in mind. This would have been catastrophic for us. The Manager of the branch dealt with the situation very sensitively, managing the expectations of both us and the vendor, managing to reach a mutually agreeable and successful outcome. I know he put a huge amount of patience and effort into this, for a while we were having discussions on a daily basis and on some occasions he was calling me from work fairly late in the evening.

We are very pleased with the Manager's sheer determination to make what was a difficult sale work for both parties and I can't thank him enough.

Apart from the initial delay with the memo of sale, which was caused by the vendor but not corrected by Bridgfords, my faith in Bridgefords has been restored. This is wholly due to the very friendly, open and honest service we received from all staff, in particular the Manager.
