Nicholas Estate Agents are an independent family owned agent estate based in Caversham, Reading. We sell and let properties primarily in the RG4 postcode area.

Was trying to rent a house in Caversham

"Very unprofessional and rude in their dealings. Poor customer service. We were trying to rent a house, everything went fine but the landlord decided to pull at the last moment, instead of letting agency at least trying to understand how much inconvenience that has put us in to was rude to us and refused to even refund the full reservation fees we had put down. I will never ever deal with these people again! Stay away. Romans were much better. even smaller letting agency like mullie are very different. these guys wont be in business for long with this customer service. "Very unhappy with the agent. Very unprofessional, rude, pushy (i actually had to ask the agent to calm down during one phone call as he spoke to me with a raised voice simply because he did not like my opinion - even though my opinion was confirmed as correct by a professional registered structural engineer).

Agent was rude to our appointed structural engineer.

Agent listed the property incorrectly saying it had a "converted but not signed off loft room". The loft room had no structural work so was therefore not converted and was simply a decorated loft. I had to appoint a structural engineer to prove this to the agent.

The agent made it difficult to communicate with the seller which complicated matter more than they needed to be.

The sale should have been easy, simply and quick but as made into a long and painful, poorly managed process by the agent."

Some members of the team struggled and got a bit stressed (Mark) but we got there in the end.

"My decision to use this agent resulted from their helpful response to my enquiry 4 years earlier. The Valuations Manager was a true professional, knowledgeable, informative, pleasant and interested, but never pressurising. Having found a desirable property before mine was even up for sale, the chance of success seemed slim but the team worked superbly together, making a very determined effort, and a buyer was found almost immediately. I was delighted and very satisfied with the handling of the sale. The only suggestion I would make, and this is not a criticism, would be that it might be advisable to keep a closer eye on sale progress in a bid to minimise the possibility of collapse. At times it did seem to be drifting. Certainly the agent for my property purchase seemed to be a little more on the ball and proactive in this respect. Nevertheless, this is a highly recommendable agent with a deservedly good reputation."
