Remove gas fire and install a log burner

"I was quite nervous about installing a log burner, but from the first phone call Derek put me at ease straight away. He came down to view the fireplace and explained what was needed and he also explained the difference between a log burner and a multi fuel burner.After the original meeting he said he would get back in touch with the price and a choice of burners he recommended.This was all done within 2 days and the quote was excellent, I accepted the offer and a date was arranged for the installation.To my surprise the job was completed well within the 2 days suggested.Derek and his workmate barely stopped and the clean up at the end was impressive. At the end Derek showed me how to use the burner and e-mailed me some useful information.To sum up Derek is easily one of the best tradesman I have had working in my house and I have already booked him for a annual service."

Installation of a multi fuel stove and removal of an existing traditional coal fireplace

"Couldn’t recommend Derek highly enough. He was great from the first contact. He kept in touch and was prompt in replies. He was honest about the lead time. However managed to do the job sooner than expected.
The work was carried out quickly and to an amazingly high quality. He even disposed of all the rubble that was removed from the old fire place.
We have another 2 fireplaces to change and will definitely use him again. We love our new stove and the finish it gives to the room."

Advice and fit multi fuel stove and flue

"Fabulous customer service, explained processs and works to take place, advised on size of burner suitable for fireplace/chimney.
On day of installation introduced themselves explained what would would be done, all works completed as per schedule. All rubbish removed at the end of the job, hoovered and cleaned after installation. Gave some hints on keeping the fire and hearth looking in perfect condition and explained the use of the fire, advised on best wood in terms of dryness etc to use to get the best out of the fire.
All in all a very positive experience for what we considered to be a big financial outlay"

We got a wood burning stove supplied and installed by Derek, we had several quotes from various companies however we decided to go with Derek due to his professionalism and his competitive quote ( wasnt the lowest quote). Derek fiited the stone in a day and was professional throughout, we would highly recommend Derek to anyone.

Remove old fire and surround. Supply and fit hearth, chamber, flue and log burning stove.

"Derek arrived when he said he would and made sure the room was fully prepared with dust sheets and an extractor before he started the job.

There was lots of mess due to the nature of the job, but Derek made sure he eliminated as much as possible during the task and cleaned up when he finished.

The job was completed sooner than we expected, which was a bonus and we are delighted with the log burner.

The price quoted was very keen and good value. Ultimately we would recommend Derek Burgess to anyone looking for a log burner in D & G."

"When contacting Derek regarding a quote he came down the same week to discuss our options. Once we choose what we wanted we contacted him and he ordered it up straight away and was fitted as soon as it arrived. Derek installed an inset stove for us with a beam about it and a slate hearth.

"Derek installed an inset stove into our new home. He was quick, reliable and did a fantastic job. He took out our old gas fire and replaced it with our new stove. Communication throughout was excellent and he turned up on time and finished the job quickly and efficiently. He left our room spotless and could not be happier with it. He gave lots of advice about what wood to burn and our servicing options too. We will always go back to him for our annual service and if we need any help and advice. A great guy all round. Have been recommending him to others too."
