"Mr. Garrard was very prompt and considerate, removing his shoes without being asked when he came in. was able to replace the pump if we wanted. But was quick to point out it may be fine now and might be better to wait rather than pay out more money now needlessly. "Jonathan arrived on the stated time. Started work and did not stop until finished. Worked extremely hard, one or two minor problems which he sorted out. Cleaned afterwards and was very impressed overall. My landline used (3 calls to Potterton) & £117 I have nothing to show for payinf £117 hasn’t even had a service.
 

"Before starting work: the charges (yes) £40 diagnostic, didn’t find problem for 3 hours & 3 phone calls to Potterton & Reading. I told him when we arranged to come at 10am, I had appointment 1:15pm seems strange to me at 1pm he then emptied boiler (2nd time) and ran upstairs to radiators to go exactly to 1:15pm why leave it all empty. That’s not now he found it. 28/07/11 I asked him on phone if he knew a Potterton, his reply “yes”."

The customer was informed of problems and actions to be taken at each step of the way, she was concerned about cost, and she had no heating or hot water.
Boiler problems can be of a variety of complexity.I did nothing that she was not aware of , she endorsed all actions. All actions I took were necessary. I am professional, and experienced with a wide variety of boilers. Another engineer would have done the same as me.I regret that this customer was so displeased after the event.I would carry out the diagnosis and repair in the same way if this problem recurred.
