Downsize move from bungalow located in narrow rural lane yo semi-detached house. Small vans needed which presented no problem.

"Everything from start to finish was excellent. The estimator who visited to give me a quote was punctual, polite and friendly. The quote arrived quickly and was less than I had expected.

The process of booking the removal once contracts had been exchanged was easy and I got guidance throughout the procedure.

The packing crew on day one arrived promptly and were friendly and efficient. They worked throughout the day, leaving at the time they said they would. They explained what would happen on day 2.

Removals crew were also friendly abd efficient and I was grateful that one of the crew from the previous day was included to provide dome continuity.

My only slight criticism is that some of the boxes were left in a different outbuilding to the one specified which meant lifting them myself but overall a minor detail.

Care was taken with my belongings and I had no damage to anything.

We moved from a large house with a very full garage and many plants in pots. We requested a packing and unpacking service and we were very glad we had done so - we still have far too much ''stuff despite our best efforts at decluttering beforehand. Our quote arrived in good time. The whole process from packing to the final unloading and unpacking (of clothes hanging boxes) took four days. Chris was in charge and there were at least four teams of men over the four days - were friendly, helpful and professional.

"Loomers were professional from the start, from providing a quote quickly to packing and then loading and unloading.

Chris and his various teams were friendly, helpful and excellent at their jobs.

We can highly recommend Loomers and we'll be using them again when we move into our next house."

Move from rental house back into home post renovations and retrieval of items held in storage.

"We have used Lomers on many occasions for removals and storage.
They are very efficient administratively and extremely accommodating dealing with dates, special requests eg dropping things off at auction.
The men work very hard and are unfailingly courteous and friendly. They take great care in handling items and also not causing dirt or damage within the house.

Move from West Sussex to Northamptonshire, using one vehicle, which held our furniture over a long weekend.

"We moved from West Sussex to Northamptonshire. Due to difficulties with our buyer wanting to exchange and complete on the same day, it was necessary to empty our old house on the Thursday, keep the furniture on the lorry until it was delivered to our new house on the following Tuesday. Lomers were so helpful and courteous to us every step of the way, from the initial quotation, loading our furniture from the house, right through to the final delivery. We cannot thank them enough for all of their help and understanding during a very stressful time. We thoroughly recommend them to anybody."

I moved from a 3 bedroom house to a retirement flat. As I was downsizing and needed to know where everything was, I only used Lomers for the actual move, not for packing (all done by a friend) . They also deconstructed the bed. Lomers delivered packing boxes and tape when asked a few weeks beforehand

"I have moved a number of times and have almost always been disappointed by my experience of removal firms (too many people involved, often surly subcontractors)but I recently moved into a retirement village and used Lomers on the recommendation of a friend.

This was quite a different experience : Anna, who came to give me an estimate, was very professional and friendly, not just touting for business. The whole move went extremely smoothly - just 3 guys, all of whom were Lomers employees, very professional, efficient and kind. The loading and unloading went smoothly, they reconstructed the bed etc efficiently, and worked easily around minor inconveniences (e.g. decorator still being in situ, parking issues).

Moving home is always an emotionally fraught experience but this time I felt I was with people I could trust and the whole thing went very smoothly. I would recommend Lomers to anyone - they are clearly a firm with good values."

"Lomers were able to accommodate me at the last minute due to a very unflexible completion date. They completely took the stress away from that aspect of my move and were absolutely brilliant.

The guys that loaded up and then unloaded a couple of days later to allow the move from Sussex to Devon on the dates required were calm, efficient and really nice guys.

No items were broken or damaged in transit either.

We moved about 100 miles north from our family home of 30 years to a new home in the same village as one of our daughters and grandsons. The main move was firstly in to store for 3 weeks then from store to our new home. We also did a separate “Pot Run” to drop off many of our plants & garden equipment firstly to our daughter’s home then finally to ours.

"Our move was likely to be more stressful than normal because we could not align the move-out/move-in dates and had to move everything to store first. In addition, we were due to go on a previously-arranged month-long holiday just after we moved in which also took our attention. Furthermore, we needed to transport a lot of our garden plants to our new home via our daughter’s house. Hence we needed a company that could:-

a) Pack for us
b) Had good storage facilities
c) Had done “pot runs” before
d) Could offload as much of the stress of the move from ourselves!

The initial estimate was done by Robyn Brown who proved to be both knowledgeable and accurate. One of the challenges of our move related to the need to do detailed long-term planning while the exchange & completion dates actually ran very late. Much had to be done on trust on both sides, which ultimately paid-off.

The packing up was done swiftly and safely. No item was damaged during the move or unpacking.

The pot-run went according to plan.

The move into our new home was a little challenging for the removal lorry. The entrance is on a slope and also quite narrow with overhead tree branches. The accurate driving and judicious poking of a branch meant there was no problem with the unloading, but it was “interesting” to observe!

The unpacking and reassembly of some items of furniture was all done in a very professional way. All the removal team who worked with us were polite, knowledgeable, trained and fit enough for the very heavy lifting tasks the move entailed.

We had a full pack and removal into storage over two days in three Luton vans, including dismantling of a large IKEA bookcase and king size bed. We received a detailed inventory of what was in each of the 8 crates whilst our property spent five weeks in storage. It was then delivered to our new house and the bookcase and bed were reassembled. They arrived at 1.30 and didn''t leave until after 6pm. Before they could unload the Lutons, they had to chop their way through the branches of a large tree which was blocking the drive near the house. All done with cheery smiles!

"we had four quotes including Lomers. Anna visisted us to give a quote which included an unknown period of storage as we were having to move out of our old house before completing on the new house. We liked the fact that this is a local company and their quote was competitive.

We went for a full pack, removal into storage and out again five weeks later. TJ and his team did an amazing job with the packing (we didn't realise we had so much china and glassware!) and were highly professional throughout. They had to negotiate some steep stairs with bulky furniture at both ends but everything arrived safely when we finally unpacked it. They quickly dismantled a complex IKEA bookcase and a big bed and reassembled them in the new house. They went above and beyond to ensure that the furniture and boxes were placed in the correct rooms and helped place some large rugs under the setees. We were very happy we had chosen Lomers and would highly recommend them to others."

"We hadn’t moved house for over 28 years and were naturally apprehensive. After our meeting with Anna, head of sales at Lomers we knew this was the company for us. Anna was very professional and filled us with confidence. Our move was over a two day period and the crew assigned to us, led by Darren were the most polite, respectful and likeable team. Nothing was too much for them and they alleviated the stress of the move. The whole of Lomers seem to work like a Swiss watch and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them."

Ours was a move in three parts! We had stuff in storage with Lomers and also, because we had the luxury of a bit of time, we were able to spread the load over a few days.

"The whole team, from those in the office to the guys on the removal crews, were courteous and polite but also friendly and humorous, many laughs were had over the moving days. We had a couple of tiny hiccups which were swiftly dealt with. Total transparency, we chose Lomers because they were just down the road from us but would have no hesitation in recommending them and would definitely use them again."

We moved from a large 3 storey house to a much smaller residence.

"I was dreading the move - having been there 67 years, but the Lomers team made it so much easier than I had expected. They even managed to move huge, really heavy garden stone pots/urns - and basins - and place them in the new garden. The stone pots were already damaged, but they moved them without further damage - an impossible job that they managed to achieve!

We had a lot of stuff and I was dreading the move. The Lomers team were kind, respectful, efficient, super quick, and very careful, while also being supportive to the emotional side of the move.They made it so much easier than I had expected.

I moved on 2nd March from a 3 bedroom house in a small village to a new build 2 bedroom town apartment. It was a real downsize! I also had a large garden over 3 levels with 2 sheds and my new apartment had 2 paved terraces. The move was mostly boxes, lots of pictures and plants in pots with 2 double beds, 2 armchairs and shelving units making up most of the furniture.

"I rang to ask for a quotation and received a visit within a week. The agent who came asked me explicit questions about what I wanted moved in each room and explained their packing service and what I could expect on the day.
I received a detailed quote and their terms and conditions, insurance information within a day. I had made a number of appointments with different removers and chose Lomers because I was impressed by the visit, the information provided and their quote seemed to be best value. I rang to accept their quote within a week and was sent online forms to fill out giving them specific information about what was to be moved etc and the approximate date.
I booked a firm date when I was told by my estate agent I would be exchanging the next day and the date my buyer suggested for completion. However within 24 hours my buyer had a small issue to be sorted and I had to cancel the date and wait for a new exchange date. Lomers did not charge me for this and pencilled in a new date although they although they could not take a firm booking until after I had exchanged. I thought this was fair and reasonable.
The day before the move a member of staff arrived to pack up the kitchen and glassware. He was very experienced and was polite and courteous at all times, taking great care with my property. On the morning of the move 2 members of staff came and walked through the house with me checking exactly what was going and what was staying. They worked without a break until the van was loaded; although they did drink the tea / coffee I offered. They then asked me to walk through the house with them again to check they had taken everything and that everything that should be left was there.
They arrived at the apartment at the time agreed and once again unloaded efficiently checking which rooms boxes and furniture should be put. They also took back with them all the boxes that had been emptied.
I would be happy to recommend Lomers as everyone I dealt with was professional, polite and efficient."

The move was not very far, within the same town, but access was difficult for big vehicles and we have a lot of belongings.

"When Anna from Lomers came to quote for the removal, she filled us with confidence as to the requirements of the move. Our access was restricted so she suggested 5 smaller vans over two days and all the boxes we could use included in the price. The guys that shifted our belongings were friendly, jovial and fast at moving everything, fuelled by tea and a few biscuits.
